This stag beetle (Odontolabis siva) can reach a length of up to 3.9 inches. It’s main coloration is dark brown to black. It’s recognized by its large powerful mandibles which are used to wrestle each other for mating and food.

These beetles are nocturnal and feed on tree sap and decaying fruits. Their typical life cycle lasts about 22 – 26 months and can be found in the Tenasserim Islands, Malayan Peninsula, Borneo, Sumatra and Java.

The crystal clear lucite makes this beetle viewable from all sides. It’s an excellent scientific teaching specimen or the perfect addition to any entomology and beetle collection.

As with all real beetles in resin, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly. Lucite block measures approx. 4 1/4 inches tall by 1 3/4 inches wide.
