Product description
The longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae), sometimes called longicorns, are a large family of beetles, with over 35,000 different species. The scientific name of this beetle family dates back to Greek mythology: after an argument with nymphs, the shepherd Cerambus was transformed into a large beetle with horns. Most of the species are characterized by their extremely long antennae, which are usually as long as or longer than the beetle’s body.
This perfect specimen has hints of pale blue and white spots. Viewable from all side, this beetle in resin is an excellent addition to any collection.
As with all real beetles in resin, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly. Lucite block measures approx. 2 3/4 inches tall by 1 5/8 inches wide.
