Encased in a crystal clear and durable resin, this piece can be studied up close, making it an excellent scientific teaching aid. Guaranteed to start a conversation with anyone who sees it.
Octopus are eight-limbed mollusks of the order Octopoda, which has over 300 different species. They do not have any bones, making their soft bodies able to fit into extremely small places in order to hide from predators.
As with all real animal specimens in resin, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly. Lucite block measures approx. 3 3/4 inches square.

Since I am a Lovecraftian, I have been adding art and items related to the sea and the Cthulhu Mythos. The little octopus is a lovely specimen. They are incredible creatures, too. "An octopus' central brain located between its eyes doesn't control its every move. Instead, two thirds of the animal's neurons are in its arms." Their brains are throughout their bodies.
