Description

This is a Wide Belly Mantis, or sometimes called the Asian Giant Mantis, it’s scientific name is Hierodula patellifera. In the wild, it’s coloration can vary from green to brown and is considered very large for the mantis family.

This real Praying Mantis in resin is an excellent teaching tool. Mantis are absolutely amazing with their triangular heads, bulging eyes and extremely flexible necks. You can see every detail of this interesting insect through the crystal clear resin.

As with all natural specimens, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly. Lucite block measures approx. 4 1/4 inches tall by 1 3/4 inches wide.

I was asking my cousin what she wanted for Christmas and one of the things she was interested in was preserved bugs, so I looked online and found this. It was a cool and affordable option that she absolutely loved, and she now will be using the site more because resin is an easier preservative to have than alcohol. Looks great as advertised, I would recommend this 100%. Pic below is her holding it for scale.
