Product description
The Rose Chafer (Cetonia aurata) or sometimes called the Green Rose Chafer, is a beetle about 3/4 of an inch long. On warm sunny days, they can be found among rose bushes. Their main habitat is southern and central Europe, where they sometimes can be very localized. They can also be found in South East Asia, in the countryside and outlying islands of Hong Kong.
It has a hard metallic green shell and a distinct V-shaped scutellum (the small area between the upper wings.) These beetles are fast flyers that feed on flowers (especially roses) pollen and nectar.
With it’s wings gently spread as if in flight, this beetle in resin, shimmers and shines. The dark greens and blues are quite impressive. It is viewable from all sides making this an excellent teaching aid or the perfect addition to any beetle collection.
As with all real beetles in resin, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly. Lucite block measures approx. 2 3/4 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches tall.
So stunning, it was a beautiful gift!
These are beauties! Beautiful resin work, barely noticeable pour lines- great work will purchase from here again!
Very pretty! Great purchase worth the money.
Very interesting and conversation pieces. Only the small ones are soo small it is difficult to see. I would not order the small ones again, but will keep anyways.
