Description
This stag beetle (Prosopocoilus forficula austerus) is recognized by it’s large pincers and glossy dark red-ish body. It is a widely distributed species, living in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Japan, and China. It can be found in tropical rainforests and temperate forests from the lowland to mountains.
This beetle is viewable from all sides, through the crystal clear lucite, with it’s wings meticulously spread open it makings an excellent teaching teaching aid or the perfect addition to any entomology collection. Add a nice finishing touch to your piece with an optional display stand. Made of clear acrylic, this stand really enhances the piece, giving it a nice viewing angle.
As with all real beetles in resin, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly. Resin block measures approximately 3 inches square and 3/4 inch thick.
