This little spider in resin is a type of Orb Weaver Spider. A Wasp Spider (Argiope bruennichi) to be exact. They can be found distributed throughout central Europe, northern Europe, north Africa, parts of Asia. This spiders web is build in a spiral pattern, but has a zig-zag line through it. The function of this line is unknown.
The females, usually larger than the males, almost always consume their male after mating. This spider specimen in resin is a great piece for starting a collection, display, or to be used for educational purposes. With it’s eight legs gently spread when embedded in the clear resin, you to safely view every tiny detail from all angles.
As with all insects in resin, size, position, and coloration can vary. We will take the time to pick the best specimen. Lucite block measures approx. 1 3/4 inches by 1 1/8 inches.
