Plain Tiger Butterfly in Resin, Danaus chrysippus
28.00 – 30.50
Description
The Plain Tiger Butterfly (Danaus Chrysippus) closely resembles the American Monarch and the regular Tiger Butterfly. It is sometimes called the African queen, or African monarch, is a medium-sized butterfly found in all parts of Asia, Australia and Africa. It is part of the brush-footed butterfly family Nymphalidae.
This butterfly consumes a plant called milkweed, which contains toxic compounds. This makes the plain tiger unpalatable to most predators. The plain tiger habitat tends to be drier, wide-open areas.
This specimen is encased in solid lucite, making for a stunning display piece and perfect for scientific study. Lucite block measures approximately 3 inches square. Add a nice finishing touch to your preserved butterfly with an optional display stand. Made of clear acrylic, this stand really enhances the piece, giving it a nice viewing angle.
As with all real butterflies in resin, size, coloration and positioning can vary slightly.
