Description
We call this little guy an Eyelash Beetle but he is actually a real Pine Chafer Beetle in crystal clear resin. Its scientific name is Polyphylla fullo. The males of this insect have enlarged antennae that give them their unique look. They are found in found in Africa, Europe and the middle east.
Their diet consists of pine leaves thus there name the Pine Chafer. This insect in resin makes for an excellent educational display, decoration for your home, or great addition to any entomology collection.
Lucite block measures approx. 2 3/4 inches tall, 1 1/2 inches wide. As with all insect specimens, size, positioning and color can very slightly.
I’ve purchased 9 insects in resin, 2 raven skulls, 2 jewel boxes, that cool silver birds skull necklace…and more?? in the last 12 months! Service is great, they respond quickly and thoughtfully to my questions. They even called me back on a Saturday morning returning a call I had just made. I prefer insects in resin for best preservation and viewing. I’ve even designed special shallow wall shelving for display for Tap Plastic to make for me. So this is my go-to bug store even though we have 2 excellent exotic insect, etc stores locally.
The items from this shop are excellent finds for my cabinet of curiosity. They are quickly shipped and match the description.
Beautiful and enchanting piece to add to the collection!
