This little insect is quite a beautiful and interesting specimen. It is (Lycorma delicatula) commonly known as the Spotted Lanternfly. It is native to China but has made it’s way to the U.S. It was first spotted in Pennsylvania in 2014 and is considered an invasive species.
This insect in resin is embedded in a flawless, crystal clear resin block with it’s wings gently spread to display it’s beautiful colors and patterns. A welcom little addition to any entomology collection.
*As with all specimens in resin, shape, positioning, and coloration can vary slightly. Lucite block measures approx. 1 1/2 inches square.
I have someone who enjoys the insects in resin, and the lantern fly went great with an ID card that I had for the lantern fly
Fascinating insect and the resin is crystal clear!
I work for a government agency tasked with surveying for Spotted Lanternfly, a serious pest that is prohibited in our state. These resin-mounted specimens provide excellent field references. They were received quickly, as described, and are of good quality. My expectations were, indeed, met.
Seller was very responsive to my pre-purchase questions! After receiving the items I was very impressed by the careful packaging within a package to minimize damage in transit. The item itself is absolutely gorgeous and I know my sons class will enjoy looking at them!
Should be a nice stocking stuffer gift !!
